Tree Removal
Safe, professional removal for trees of any size — plus transplanting and felling assessments.
The technique we use to remove a tree depends on factors like its size, shape, age, and whether it's damaged through rot or insect infestation. If you need felling or removal services, it pays to call in an expert for your own safety and the safety of your property.
Tree Transplanting
Transplanting involves relocating a mature tree from one position to another. Great care is taken during removal and relocation to reduce shock and possible death of the transplant — trees are cabled, fertilised, watered and regularly checked afterward. Not all species are suitable for transplanting.
Tree Felling
Trees may need to be felled for a variety of reasons. This is dangerous work that must be carried out with care to people, property and the surrounding environment. Before felling commences, we carefully plan for factors like overhead lines, roads and buildings. Call us today for a free appraisal.
Lopping vs. Pruning
There's a lot of confusion around "lopping" and "pruning." Many people believe they need their trees lopped when they get too large — but lopping is a very different (and often harmful) procedure compared to proper pruning. Trees are a valuable asset to your property, so it's worth considering the long-term effect of any maintenance work.
Damaging effects of lopping:
- Removing 50% or more of the canopy starves the tree and causes undue stress
- The tree goes into survival mode, creating quicker, weakly-attached re-growth
- Within a couple of years the re-growth can pose a greater danger as it reaches pre-lopping height
- Lopped trees are less attractive and more susceptible to fungal and insect infestation
ATS are Brisbane tree removal and relocation specialists offering both commercial and domestic services. If you have trees that need attention, we'll complete an inspection and give you the best affordable management solution without compromising the health or wellbeing of the tree — all work conforms to Australian standards.
Do You Need Council Approval?
Often, yes — and it catches people out. Many suburban trees are protected by local vegetation laws, and in Brisbane interfering with protected vegetation without permission is an offence even on your own property, though exemptions exist for trees close to a dwelling. Trees on the nature strip are a separate matter again: that land belongs to council, not you. See our guides to Queensland clearing laws and nature strip tree removal, or just call us and describe the tree — it's a short conversation that can save an expensive mistake.
